    Cloud Automation
New Approaches for Provisioning and Managing
Cloud automation is a broad term that refers to the processes and tools an organization uses to reduce the manual efforts associated with provisioning and managing cloud computing workloads. IT teams can apply cloud automation to private, public and hybrid cloud environments. With cloud automation, an organization eliminates the repetitive and manual processes for workload deployment and management. To achieve cloud automation, an IT team needs to use orchestration and automation tools that run on top of their virtualized environment. Orchestration enables an administrator to codify the various steps and processes involved with workload deployment and management, while automation invokes those steps without human intervention. Learn from other ITMA members how they are taking making an impact with cloud automation.

SAFe as a Viable Solution to Improve both Prioritization and Execution
In today's connected world, ideas can spread and like wildfire. New technologies emerge continuously and so do new processes to support them. The need to manage multiple initiatives with significant interdependencies is becoming more important as agile and lean are being used to produce results faster. Essentially a blending of prioritization and project “management”, the term used is scaling. There are many frameworks and methodologies that have emerged for scaling, including the least prescriptive, Scrum of Scrums (SoS), to more regimented frameworks, such as Large Scaled Scrum (LeSS), Disciplined Agile Delivery (DaD) and many homegrown scaled approaches (i.e. Spotify). One scaling approach that has been gaining momentum is the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), whose adoption rate has grown by nearly dramatically. SAFe provides a detailed and sophisticated framework to the complex problems of delivering quality software at the large scale of 50 or more people. The framework has been successful organizations showing improvements of up to 75% in TTM (time to market), increases of 50% in productivity and 50% decreases in defects -- not to mention overall increases in happiness within delivery teams.
In this session learn the essentials of SAFe and understand how to scale the framework to fit your organization from large to small.

    Data Quality
Curing the Negative Business Impact of Poor Data Quality

People and things are waiting for quality data. If the data is not complete, on-time and accurate there multiple negative business implications. It goes beyond dollars and cents. Bad data slows employees down, they feel their performance is suffering. According to the Harvard Business Review, the reason bad data costs so much is that decision makers, managers, knowledge workers, data scientists, and others must accommodate it in their everyday work. And doing so is both time-consuming and expensive. The data that is needed may have plenty of errors, and in the face of a critical deadline, many individuals simply make corrections themselves to complete the task at hand...aka the “hero” approach. Bad data is bad for business. Ovum Research reported that poor quality data is costing businesses at least 30% of revenues. Excess inventory, scrap, rework, mis-schedules are just a few examples of the impact. Resulting in reduced revenue, decreased margins and worst of all, unhappy customers.

In this session you will learn approaches for significantly improving data quality within your organization. From master data, through transactional data to analytics data. If your plan is to become a “Digital Business” you have to have a solid data foundation.

The Role of IT in Digital Transformation
Are you where you want to be?

The role that IT is allowed to play is based on two primary determining factors, IT’s organizational clout within the overall company and IT’s willingness and ability to innovate. Where would you put your role today and where do you want it to be.
