2009 Stats Shows Increase in Member Attendance and Value
The ITMA Steering Committee has listened to your feedback, modified meeting topics and used your input to help us improve our meetings.
This year, we have seen a significant increase in attendance, and our average meeting score.

Please take into consideration, as you evaluate your ITMA membership for the coming year, that members are receiving noticeable jumps in value than in the past and that quality programming at ITMA is a direct result of keeping our membership rolls healthy and growing.
Below are some additional statistics from our meetings:
  Jan – May 2007 Jan-May 2008 Jan – May 2009
Average Rating
(on a 5.0 scale)

Several companies also reported that as a result of sending entire teams within their IT department, they were able to get more data and accomplish some great progress on projects.  If you as the director or executive in your shop cannot attend a monthly meeting, please consider forwarding the evites to other staff members and send them in your place.

Finally, below are a few comments from our meeting evaluations.
Great presentation, very relevant content, right depth and background.
Content was very relevant. Speaker was top notch. Very very good.
Lots of great information Breakout sessions were great.
The CIO Panel discussion was insightful.

ITMA Return on Investment
One of the important projects going on in the second half of 2009 is intentionally collect and document stories or "incidents" where ITMA members or guests receive actionable information at meetings and immediately create results for their companies.   ITMA would like to ask you to begin to think through the ways that the ITMA monthly meetings or encounters with other members have added to the bottom-line or created other efficiencies for your company.  We will be following up to gather your feedback in the poll that we have planned for the fall.

The following statements (mostly spontaneous) are actual comments from members and concrete ways ITMA has been delivering immediate results for members/ guests in the past year:
" This is just our third event we have attended and we have already received the value of our membership fee."
"From what I heard today, you have probably just saved our company $20,000 on something I learned here even just as a guest."
"At the last session, I got a tip from one of the presenters and went back to the office and made a $150,000 reduction in my budget."
"I came as a guest, and already was able to redesign priorities in some of my rollouts.  Thanks and I'll be signing up!"
Please click on the button below and send us a note to tell us what you have been able to deliver back to your company because of your ITMA membership and attendance at meetings.  Otherwise, stay tuned for someone to contact you in the near future and have a thought or two in response to our friendly poll.

Facilitated Education Update
Here is some mid-summer news for those members who attended the December session with ICEX and Ric Swanborg and/ or are just wondering how our education track is coming.   As reported in the last ITMA newsletter, the members that signed up for the special session were very enthusiastic about the world-class knowledge gained and the value received for the day at Steelcase for the intensive training course.

It might be stating the obvious, but the slow economy this past spring has been a challenging influence in getting our next session scheduled and rolling.   ITMA is pleased, however, to report that based on conversations with ICEX, based on their work with Fortune 100 companies around the country, they are developing a more robust track of high level courses for mid-level manager training now being called Accelerated Education.   We are exploring options for putting one of these sessions in motion.   The other exciting development is that ICEX is going to be able to make some of these courses available on demand and online.  The Steering Committee is discussing various options about how to make these available to ITMA members.

Another option being considered is to organize some ad hoc regional "laboratory" events of IT problem-solving and make these available to ITMA members on a local basis.  The basis for what will be discussed and researched at these events will come as a result of some polling of the membership being planned for the September timeframe.

Stay tuned for further announcements for the exciting follow-up to these continuing developments!
